What makes me, ME?!
Your typical southern, small town girl right here!! Growing up I was all things outside with a touch of crafty on the side. Having two brothers and being one of the few girls in the whole family you can say I was a bit of a tomboy, but don't let that fool you, I had a fun, crafty, all-things-girly kind of side to me and still do!
My love of photography came about in high school when I took my first photography class. All film, no digital, and still to this day some of those photos I took in that class are my absolute favorite. As time passed my love for sports came about and photography quickly took a back seat. Don't get me wrong, I never put the camera away completely, softball just became my life. Before I knew it, I was on my way to college with a signed contract to play softball. As much as I hate to say it my softball days didn't last long when a shoulder injury set me back forever. A dream was lost, but quickly another was set before me. It's true when they say "God always has a plan in store for you."
A new journey was placed before me with lots of fun adventures on the way. After my first year in college I decided to move off and move on to a bigger and better school. My journey to La Tech was in place and I was so ready to start studying Interior Design and Architecture. Boy was that a long and hard journey, but it has led me to where I am today. After my third year in design school I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad and spend a summer in Paris! The camera was back in my hand to document my trip and that is when it hit me.....I wanted photography to be a big part of my life in some form or fashion. My boyfriend at the time, awesome hubs now, purchased a "new to me" camera that following Christmas after my trip and that is when the magic started! I haven't put a camera down since.
Interior Design taught me a lot, especially how to see the world around you differently. With a Bachelors Degree in one hand and a camera in the other I was ready for the grown up world. A few years later I got to marry the man of my dreams that stayed by my side through college and that bought me my first camera, and boy has it been an amazing love story!!! :) I am now proud to say I am a Farmers Wife, an Interior Designer, and a Photographer and that is what makes me, Me!
From capturing a bride in her pure beauty, to a senior conquering a milestone, all the way to the farm life when we work cows; I adore capturing memories that last a lifetime! I am truly blessed that God has led me on this journey to help preserve memories for a lifetime.
